Tarantarte
Tarantarte, under the artistic direction of Maristella Martella, is an association based in Corsano (Le) that promotes and deepens the study of popular dances from southern Italy and the Mediterranean.
Tarantarte offers its activities throughout Italy and abroad: dance courses, in-depth workshops, cultural meetings, and the organisation of dance and music events.
In these years of collaboration between the Tarantarte association and the Mercatino del Gusto, the programming of the ‘Gusto Folk’ evenings has been very rich and intense: there have been many artists, from Salento and elsewhere, with live concerts, dance performances and workshops that have been very well attended by the public present. Tarantarte inherits the experience of the Scuola Taranta Power Bologna founded in 2001 by Eugenio Bennato, Maristella Martella and Silvia Coarelli, the city in which the school carries out its main teaching activities under the direction of Silvia De Ronzo.
Tarantarte is a laboratory of continuous experimentation that crosses different languages such as dance, music, theatre, without forgetting tradition.
Tarantarte, through its didactic activities and active collaboration with other associations in the organisation of cultural events of dance and music, enters fully into the renewed cultural movement that has invested the whole of Italy and that resonates
In these years of cooperation between the Tarantarte association and the Mercatino del Gusto, the programming of the ‘Gusto Folk’ evenings has been very rich and intense: there have been many artists, both from Salento and elsewhere, with live concerts, dance performances, workshops that have been very well attended by the public, evenings dedicated to children, book presentations and debates on the movement of revival of music and dance from Salento. Once again this year, the association offers a programme featuring some of the most important artistic realities of the Salento area.
