A celebratory ritual performance marking the preparation of tomato sauce, featuring Roberto Aloisio, Donatella Carrozzini, Mariapia Durante, Marianna Ghiaccio, Anna Giaffreda, Fabio Iaci, the very young Aurora Pugliese and others. Written and directed by Ilaria Mancino

The scholar Raimondo Rodia will talk to us about dietary customs straddling the sacred and the profane, accompanied by prayers and exorcisms, and about the crops and trades of an ancient world that vanished in the post-war economic boom.

Reforestation of the Salento region, starting with the Bosco Belvedere and its precious ponds

Presentation of the project and the work of the “Manu Manu Riforesta” Association, featuring Ada Martella, Vito Lisi and Professor Rita Accogli, a botanist at the University of Salento.

A journey through the edible herbs of Salento in August, admiring them in person and learning about their uses and possible recipes.

Screening of the documentary *Le acque effimere di Padula Mancina* and the short film *Il laccio di Torrepaduli* by Bruna Rotunno and Ada Martella

The event will be introduced by the scholar Oreste Caroppo, alongside meteorology expert Michele Sanclare, who will describe the distinctive climatic features of the Bosco Belvedere area in the heart of the lower Salento region.
This will be followed by a frisellata with a tasting of red wines.
THURSDAY 6 AUGUST AT 9.30 pm

Round-table discussion: The civic commitment of the committees for the protection of the Salento landscape

An open meeting to discuss the Salento region, its conservation and its future, amidst the pressures of the industrial green economy, intensive agriculture and speculation surrounding large-scale infrastructure projects.
Moderated by Roberto Aloisio and Oreste Caroppo.
This will be followed by a tasting of seasonal fruit and sangria, with surprise musical interludes.
